Antique Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action .44WCF Rifle. This Winchester 1873 sports a 24” inch octagon barrel with a full-length magazine tube. The top flat has the stamped standard Winchester two-line address and caliber marking. The shell lifter has the caliber marking stamped on the bottom. The short-blade front sight is paired with an elevator-adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight. The dust cover rides on an integral-to-the-frame rail. The barrel, magazine tube, forearm cap, side-plates, hammer, loading lever and butt-plate were all blued. Frame is made of iron. The serial number is stamped on the lower tang and the model is stamped on the upper tang. The wood stocks are made of straight-grained Walnut. The butt-plate has the sliding trapdoor for the cleaning rod storage. Cleaning rod is absent.   • Condition: Bluing on the barrel, magazine tube, fore-end cap, receiver, loading lever and butt-plate have an overcast brownish appearance that shows some areas of scattered blotchiness throughout. The butt-plate bluing is mostly brownish in color. The barrel bore has fair to good rifling and shows areas of older erosion. The wood stocks exhibit the standard nicks, dents and scratches that are associated with a rifle of this age. There does not appear to be any replaced parts. The action is strong and solid and operates as it should.
