  • Notes: David Webb (1925-1975) was a visionary American jeweler renowned for his bold, luxurious, and sculptural designs that seamlessly blended ancient motifs with modern flair. Best known for his iconic animal bracelets and vibrant enamel work, Webb created statement pieces that adorned high society figures such as Jackie Kennedy and Elizabeth Taylor, establishing a lasting American luxury brand from his New York studio. Founded in 1946 by David Webb and Nina Silberstein, David Webb Inc. quickly gained recognition for its colorful jewelry and daring, sculptural forms. Drawing inspiration from masters like Cartier, Seaman Schepps, Fabergé, and Verdura, Webb developed a unique aesthetic marked by his passion for color, texture, and unusual combinations of enamel, gems, and precious materials. Webb’s fascination with nature and ancient cultures heavily influenced his most celebrated motifs, including stylized animals and flowers. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, he led the forefront of jewelry design, crafting contemporary, wearable gold sculptures that redefined American glamour. Until his death in 1975, David Webb pioneered innovative design, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most influential figures in American jewelry history.
