Lot 6011
Star Wars A New Hope Darth Vader's Tie Fighter X1 1:18 Scale. Designed by ILM (Industrial Light & Magic). This model was hand made by famed Star Wars model maker Lasse Henning. Made by Famed Star Wars Model Maker Lasse Henning, this Mega Scale (at 1/18 scale) Darth Vader TIE Fighter X1 upscaled replica is spot on in detail. Lasse has an amazing eye for detail in the very fine work he has been producing for decades. This is not limited to Star Wars, of course, though his Star Wars miniatures are truly legendary. This is one such piece. Lasse made this TIE X1 for Kuhn Global’s Kurt Kuhn (Modelers Miniatures & Magic’s Founder). Kurt was able to take his usual Blue Screen Photos of it, and again like other pieces he has photographed, one of the photos of this magnificent TIE Fighter X1 was utilized for a Darth Vader Calendar, which is included with the model offered. Built in the giant 1/18 scale, this TIE Fighter X1 is much larger than the studio scale TIE X1, which is in 1/24 scale. It is impressive in every way, especially since it was Lasse Henning who created and built this amazing piece. Lasse even made a detailed interior with a detailed Darth Vader figure to pilot the fighter. With a photo taken from the front of the model, Kurt Kuhn once photographed himself peering over the back of the X1, looking toward the camera, so that everyone could see how large the TIE Fighter Ball is in its massive 1/18 scale. It is the size of a Toddler’s head. One is drawn toward its menacing look with its dark blue/gray base paint. The egg crate panel effect looks amazing and they are painted in black as they are supposed to be. The canopy and hatch panels are painted in dark gray. The details and panel lines on this piece are true to the original studio scale filming model, as are the unlit LED’s used for the two laser cannons that are just below the canopy. It has been slightly weathered with bits of rust and panel line highlights to obtain that perfect menacing look that makes this great Darth Vader TIE Fighter X1 as realistic to the original as possible. The mount is on the bottom rear side of the massive TIE Fighter Ball. It is an attention grabber, and is an extremely rare piece. It is the only one that Lasse Henning built other than the one he built for himself. Keywords: Collectible; Ref: BD1831
