Restored Marlin Model 1893 Takedown .30-30 Lever Action Rifle. This Marlin Takedown Model 1893 has a 26” inch octagon barrel with a full-length magazine tube. The front sight is a blade style with a bead top that is paired with an elevator-adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight. The barrel has the two-line Marlin address and caliber marking roll-stamped on the top flat. The top of the receiver is marked “Marlin Safety”. The upper tang shows the model number and the serial number can be found on the bottom of the receiver. The barrel and magazine tube are blued steel and the forearm cap, receiver, hammer, loading lever and crescent-shaped butt-plate are color-case hardened. The stocks are made of straight-grained Walnut with bordered checkering on the forearm and the straight-grip buttstock. The upper tang has two drilled and tapped un-filled holes for mounting a rear peep sight. The bore is semi-shiny with very good rifling. The action is smooth and sound. The wood stocks are in excellent condition with very minor handling marks. The checkering, although not razor sharp, is very well defined. There does not appear to be any replaced parts. A very nice specimen, as restored, of an early model Marlin in a very popular caliber.; Ref: BD1040
