Marc Chagall, Russian (1887 - 1985) "Itinerant Players". Itinerant Players is an original lithograph from Chagall’s Lithographe II, and printed by Mourlot on Arches paper. Published by Andre Sauret, Paris. In 1963 Chagall was commissioned to create a suite of original lithographs for Chagall Lithographe II which covered Chagall’s lithographs from 1957 through 1962. This original lithograph is in excellent condition. Marc Chagall (( 1887 -1985 ) Belorussion-born French painter, printmaker and designer. Chagall worked in many mediums including book illustration, stained glass windows, ceramics, tapestries, painting and fine art prints. Although most people view Chagall as the world’s most prominent Jewish artist of the twentieth century he himself felt he was representing not the dream of one people but of all humanity. He was a pioneer of modernism bringing together Cubism, Symbolism and Fauvism which led into Surrealism. His unique vision of the world and his total understanding of the use of color has made him one of the world’s great artist along side Picasso and Matisse. Retail Value $1,200.00.
