Straight grain American walnut stocks with single retaining band on forearm and straight grip butt stock with brass crescent butt plate with trap for cleaning rods (present). Factory fitted with staple and saddle ring to prevent loss while on horseback. 2 line Winchester barrel address with folding 2 position carbine rear sight and integral barrel bad front sight. Blue finished barrel and magazine with case colored hammer and lever. Serial numbered on lower tang under lever. The Model 1866 revolutionized American gun making and quickly became synonymous with the American west. Caliber/ Gauge: .44 Henry Flat Rimfire Serial Number: 47232 Working Order: Firearm has not been tested; Background Check: Not Required; Keywords: Firearms, Guns; Ref: BD1040

  • Dimensions: 20" Barrel;
  • Circa: 1870
  • Condition: Very good with brass frame and crescent butt plate having mellowed to a nice uncleaned mustard tone. The straight grain American walnut stocks are very fine with a few minor impressions and bruises from period use but remain full-sized and without distress. The barrel and magazine tube have both turned a mottled chocolate brown from period use and exposure to the elements with light pitting and surface rust near the end of the barrel and magazine tube. The barrel and magazine tube have been coated in varnish to help protect the finish. The action remains in very fine mechanical condition and operates properly. The bore is fair/good with roughness in the grooves. The carbine shows no evidence of having ever been dissembled. A very fine above average example of the iconic American Yellow Boy carbine.
