  • Circa: 1894

  • Condition: The original bluing on the barrel and magazine tube rates at 95%. The color case-hardened receiver, forearm cap, hammer, lever and crescent butt-plate retain almost all their great colors. The Special-Order, custom, pistol-grip stock and forearm exhibit beautiful feathering and figuring with lightly worn checkering. There are some minor dings and handling marks that are consistent with the age of this antique Special-Order Winchester. The action is sound and there are no visible signs of replaced parts. All attributes of this classic Winchester Model 1894 have been very well executed. Very fine as restored with 95% blue finish remaining, showing some thinning to a pleasant plum on the barrel. Almost all of the vivid case colors remain. There are a number of cleaning scratches on the lever assembly. The wood is very good with the forend cap a bit ill-fitting and has recut checkering, with a number of minor dents, dings and scratches. The checkering is well defined. The markings are clear and crisp. The action is excellent.
